With stainless steel, we acquired for our customer a set of five design components to be installed to an electronically controlled vacuum cleaner of a higher price range marketed under a known foreign trademark. In the development process, we took a reference 3D model with a defined exterior shape of covers and on its basis, we produced the entire construction of covers based on the basis of which we could initiate the construction of sheet metal shaping tools. The tools for the production of front and side covers were constructed by the employees in our tool making department. The special feature of covers manufactured by the company FORI is the basic material from which they are made. After long-time testing, we managed to create sheet metal that requires no additional varnishing after shaping in the further process. Visible surface of the basic material is varnished with a special transparent varnish immediately prior to sheet metal cutting to desired formats. Such varnishing provides required resistance of surfaces against touch, i.e. surface insensitivity to finger prints. Such type of sheet metal is otherwise used in standard manufacture of household appliances. However, we were among first to use it in the deep drawing procedure, and the varnished surface was able to bear, without damages, with all mechanical strain loads resulting from such sheet metal shaping procedure. By using this sheet metal, we managed to shorten the technological procedure of cover manufacture, and according to the initial definition of the project from financial point of view, we managed to lower the manufacturing costs. In November 2009, we already supplied the first cover sets to the customer.
